Swift Networks has extended its existing contract agreement with film distributor Village Roadshow for another five years.

According to Swift, the deal will allow it to access Village Roadshow’s new release and back catalogue from United International Pictures, which can then be viewed on its network.

Its Swift Access product is a low-bandwidth entertainment and communications platform designed for closed-loop accommodation facilities such as mining accommodation, aged care and retirement living facilities.

Swift was unable to say how much revenue would be generated from the contract, which will depend on the number of new and existing customer contracts that use Village Roadshow content.

Regardless, Swift said there was considerable value in providing an expanded content range to its customers.

Swift chief executive Brian Mangano said the deal demonstrated his company’s commitment to high quality content.

“Expanding our movie library strengthens our content offering and allows us to continue to offer the best entertainment and communication platform on the market to our clients,” he said.

Swift won a $3.5 million contract with Roy Hill last week.

Swift shares closed the day off 6.25 per cent to trade at 1.5 cents.
