South Perth-based bamboo flooring manufacturer Style Ltd has embarked on a major board restructure following a strategic review.

The company has appointed Wayne Gill as an independent director and David Hamilton as company secretary, while executive vice president operations Sean McDaniell and executive vice president finance and chief financial officer Murray Freeman have resigned as company secretaries.

The men will continue in their respective key management positions while forming part of a newly created executive leadership team.

Style said the board restructure would allow key management, who make up four out of five existing board members, to focus more of their time on driving the implementation of key strategies.

In addition to Mr McDaniell and Mr Freeman, the new executive leadership team will be chaired by chief executive Greg Johnson and will also comprise Jian Li in the new role of executive vice president development together with the currently vacant roles of executive vice president marketing and executive vice president strategy and business development.

Style said it expected the latter appointments to be completed by June 2008 and said the restructuring would provide the foundation for company growth in the next 12 months to 24 months.

Mr Gill has over 25 years experience in the areas of commercialisation, alliancing, strategy and business development and has held several senior executive positions with BHP Billiton including VP project development and VP strategic planning for BHP power.

Mr Hamilton has undertaken governance and regulatory compliance reviews for public companies and statutory authorities and has held the role of secretary for a number of public companies, both listed and unlisted, over the past 16 years.

Style owns and operates a Chinese manaufacturing facility in Anji, Southern China, that produces patented flooring made from strand woven bamboo with a timber appearance and high hardness rating.
