Perth will play host to chief executives from seven of the world’s biggest energy and engineering companies during the LNG18 conference, to be held in April next year.

The conference organisers said today the committed speakers include Royal Dutch Shell chief executive Ben van Beurden and INPEX president Toshiaki Kitamura.

The two big LNG producers from Qatar – which is currently the world’s largest LNG exporter, with capacity of 77 million tonnes per year – will be out in force.

RasGas chief executive Hamad Rashid Al Mohannadi and Qatasgas chief executive Khalid Bin Khalifa Bin Al-Thani will both be speaking.

Bill Dudley, who heads US engineering giant Bechtel Group, and ConocoPhilips chairman and chief executive Ryan Lance, are also down to speak.

BG Group chief executive Helge Lund is listed as a speaker, but he is likely to be in a new role shortly, after Shell’s announcement this week that it plans to acquire BG.

Australian speakers include Woodside Petroleum chief executive Peter Coleman and Origin Energy boss Grant King.

The LNG conferences are typically the major international gathering of industry representatives.

An estimated 6,000 delegates are expected to attend next year’s event, which will be held at the Perth Convention Exhibition Centre.

The theme of LNG18 is Redrawing the Global Map of Gas.
