STATEWEST Credit Society has become the first WA financial institution to launch its own online banking service.
Called My Teller, the service was eagerly anticipated with hundreds of pre-registration forms completed in the three weeks prior to its launch.
StateWest CEO Greg Wall said the gap between banks and credit societies in terms of access and the Australian Prudential Regulation Authority governing body is closing.
“However, in terms of personal service and culture, the gap is ever widening,” Mr Wall said.
The service is the latest addition to StateWest’s website at www.statewest.com that was launched in 1998 with a free online football tipping competition.
That was the first free online football tipping competition and at one stage was the most used football tipping site in Australia.
