Mirvac, Delfin Lend Lease and Satterley Consortium have been shortlisted by the state government as the preferred development partners for a major residential project north of Perth at Alkimos.

Lands Minister Brendon Grylls said all three companies will have until late May to prepare proposals outlining their approach to design, implementation and sustainable development initiatives for the 710 hectares of land.

"We'll also be further examining the developer's credentials to ensure the best outcomes for our landholding at Alkimos," Mr Grylls said.

Alkimos Eglington - co-owned by the government, Eglington Estates, Peet Alkimos and the Water Corporation - will be developed over 25 years and eventually be home to 50,000 people.

The land will included a substantial regional town centre, a coastal village, a regional beach and significant areas of regional open space, Mr Grylls said.
