St John of God design team named

Architecture firm Silver Thomas Hanley have been appointed to lead the design team for the $234 million redevelopment of St John of God hospital in Murdoch.

The project will be managed by Project Directors Australia.

Other members of the design team include; BPA Engineering; Engineering Technology Consultants; SMW&C; SPP Group; Ian Lush; Wood & Grieve Engineers; and Rider Levett Bucknall.

Director of hospital redevelopment Dean Lavers said the appointment of the design team was a big step forward.

"A thorough tender process identified the design team that we are confident will provide the hospital with the best mix of skills and experience," Mr Lavers said.

"The hospital is strongly committed to environmental sustainability, and a key objective for the design team will be to ensure sustainable development principles are incorporated into the design," he said.

St John of God Health care is investing $234 million at its Murdoch Hospital, increasing capacity from 363 to 522 beds.
