Geospatial imagery company Spookfish has expanded its capture program into South Australia, while also increasing its coverage in the Melbourne metropolitan area.

Perth-based Spookfish said it now had more than 4,100 square kilometres of imagery covering Adelaide’s metropolitan area, as well as local government areas Adelaide Hills and Mount Barker.

In addition, the company has also expanded its coverage in Melbourne to 6,300sq kilometres.

Spookfish is in the process of a national rollout of its technology this year, and has begun extending its coverage to Brisbane and Sydney.

Chief executive Jason Waller said the national rollout was an ongoing process.

“At a time when cities are growing faster than ever, we are delighted to offer our customers very high resolution imagery in Adelaide, Melbourne and Perth,” he said.

“We are excited to be building our national footprint and will offer an extended coverage area across Australia within the next 12 months."

The company also covers the entire Perth metropolitan area, which spans about 7,000sq kilometres.

Spookfish uses a fleet of specialised planes to capture imagery for its platform.

Shares in Spookfish were flat at 4.5 cents each today.
