Software businesses push east

BALCATTA-based software company ST Synergy is on track for a successful expansion into the eastern states after last week joining forces with another local software company, Civilisation.

ST Synergy bought the licensing rights to Civilisation’s software, which has a variety of functions including high performance search engines and Internet tracking capabilities.

The new software is expected to complement ST Synergy’s knowledge management software, which is document management system similar to Lotus Notes that links various applications to a single point of reference, helping to avoid data duplication.

The two software packages are now being integrated and, once this has been completed, ST Synergy users will be able to communicate with remote operations instantly via the Internet, allowing all users in a network to access the same information at the same time.

The web capability also means ST Synergy users will be able to conduct searches of Intranets and the Internet and maintain client-specific documentation of results.

ST Synergy executive chairman John Athans said arrangement with Civilisation would be able to provide Internet capabilities for the software package earlier than anticipated.
