A NEW, national not-for-profit body representing Australian small-to-medium enterprises was recently launched at the MyBiz Expo in Sydney.
The SME Association of Australia (SMEAA), which offers group-buying facilities, professional advice and networking opportunities to small businesses, aims to reach 10,000 new members by the end of 2012.
It will also publish a magazine, hold regular events and forge links with international SME associations to help its members increase their global knowledge and networks.
SMEAA inaugural chief executive Caroline Hong said Australia has never had a national SME association despite about two million SMEs accounting for more than 95 per cent of all businesses.
