On Wednesday August 27 and Thursday August 28 the Industrial Foundation for Accident Prevention is holding the SafetyWA 2003 Conference and Exhibition, at the Sheraton Hotel.

The conference will examine the theme of ‘Practical Workplace Solutions’ and aims to increase awareness of health and safety issues in the workplace by presenting a range of practical solutions for all workplaces with a focus on issues such as, occupational health issues, fitness for work, perspectives from small to medium sized organisations, and innovative safety management systems.

Keynote speakers for the conference include, Industrial Foundation for Accident Prevention, managing director, Martin Ralph; Newmont Mining Corporation – USA, vice president operational development – health and safety, Paul Dowd; Australian National University – Canberra, associate professor of sociology, Dr Andrew Hopkins; Preventative Injury Planning Strategies, director, Pippa Wright; and Department of Consumer and Employment Protection, acting executive director – worksafe division, Nina Lyhne.
