Four Midland Brick employees have been rewarded for their amazing feat of 25 years employment at the company without once incurring a lost time injury.

Clarrie Werner, Peter Huisman, Joe Glucina and Greg Fowler were presented with a half ounce pure gold coin, struck at the Perth Mint, and a certificate.

Midland Brick company occupational safety and health manger Kym Cramer said to have worked in the industry, where injuries were commonplace, and not sustain a lost time injury was a fantastic achievement.

Lost time injury is measured by the number of employees in every one million man hours worked that received an injury resulting in them not being able to complete a full shift subsequent to the day of injury.

Midland Brick has shown a consistent reduction in LTIs over the past decade. In 1992-93 there were 60 LTIs. By 2002-03 that number had fallen to four.
