THE hunt is on for the South West’s leading businesses with small business owners invited to nominate for the 2001 South West Small Business Awards.

The awards recognise the oft-overlooked contribution of small business to the WA economy and are aimed at businesses with fewer than five employees, businesses with fewer than 20 employees; businesses with fewer than 50 employees and businesses with fewer than 100 employees.

The winner from each of the four categories will then be compared against other regional winners and, if selected, become finalists in the WA Small Business of the Year Awards.

Winners from those awards will represent WA at the national finals.

Entries for the awards close on March 30.

Leschenault Business Enterprise Centre manager Alison Lannin said the South West had many exceptional businesses.

Over the past five years, the region has dominated the WA Small Business Awards.
