Subiaco-based SRG Global has secured new engineering and mining work including on Red 5’s Darlot gold operations in Western Australia.

The contracts have a combined value of about $45 million and build on recent work awarded to SRG for the construction of a water tank in Karratha.

The business has now been subcontracted by Maddington-based Pit N Portal for works on Red 5’s Great Western deposit (part of the Darlot mining hub) in the Eastern Goldfields.

The scope of works include drill and blast, and load and haul services, as well as explosives supply over a 12-month period, with SRG to begin work immediately.

It has also secured a five-year contract with repeat customer GFG for engineering work on its steel operations in South Australia.

The Steelworks site, located in Whyalla, is operated by GFG subsidiary InfraBuild (formerly Liberty OneSteel) and has a production capacity of about 1.2 million tonnes per annum.

The new services are in addition to SRG’s existing refractory services contract, managing director David Macgeorge said.

“We are very pleased to have secured these two term contracts, adding to our recurring annuity earnings,” he said.

“The Pit N Portal contract was specifically targeted as it builds upon our mining services portfolio of high quality growth commodities whilst diversifying SRG Global’s customer base.”

The new contracts come less than a week after SRG was selected to build a 20 million litre, concrete water tank under a $15.5 million state government project. Construction is expected to complete late in the year.

SRG was trading 1 per cent higher at 1:43pm AEDT to 50 cents.
