Southern Cross Electrical Engineering has been awarded a $40 million contract for further electrical and instrumentation works at Rio Tinto’s Cape Lambert Port B project.
The award will enable variations to the company’s previously awarded phase 1 package for the car dumpers and screenhouse.
It covers the balance of the works and brings the company’s total value of work on the project to $80 million.
It is SCEE’s fourth contract at the project in recent years, having secured a $100 million electrical instrumentation contract in 2012 and a $15 million powerline supply contract in 2011, along with its electrical instrumentation contract in January.
