BGC Contracting has won a $120 million contract to construct an airstrip and internal roads for Hancock Prospecting’s Roy Hill project in the Pilbara.
BGC said the job would complement an early contractor involvment project to build a 340 kilometre railway line from the Roy Hill mine to port at Port Hedland, in joint venture with John Holland and Macmahon Holdings.
“We look forward to delivering a quality outcome for the Roy Hill project and maintaining a long and mutually rewarding relationship.” BGC Contracting chief executive Greg Heylen said.
Work on the contract is set to commence immediately, with completion scheduled for March 2013.
