HAVING recently joined forces to develop strategic projects, developers Match and Hawaiian have acquired their first site in Serich Lane, Northbridge, following a tender by the East Perth Redevelopment Authority. The 1,186 square metre site with frontage to three streets is located in the Russell Square precinct and will be developed into a three-storey mixed-use complex. Match managing director Lloyd Clark said its design focus, together with the financial acumen of Hawaiian, were major contributors to the joint venture’s success. “Our work has allowed us to introduce developments with character into the environment and rejuvenate those of which character is inherent,” he said. “While our capacity to develop a unique project is important, we are fully aware that our work could not be considered for important statutory projects without the support of Hawaiian.” During the past six years, Match has built up a portfolio of prominent properties, including Deco 595, Dime and the Metropolitan in Mount Lawley, The Clocktower in Inglewood, Maymont in Maylands and a significant heritage renewal project in Murray Street dubbed Home. The EPRA tender represents the joint venture’s first foray into statutory land development and the partnership anticipates it is the first of many to come.
