A three-year journey to transform a South Fremantle warehouse into one of the port city’s largest public artworks is nearing its end, with the final touches to be applied to the East West Design furniture store on Marine Terrace by the end of the year.
Artist Graeme Miles Richards has been working on the project on and off since September 2013, after being commissioned by the owners of East West Design to brighten the space.
The murals stretch on both sides of the building, which fronts both South Terrace and Marine Terrace, providing a preview of the furniture and home wares on offer inside, while evoking the spirit of travel to exotic destinations as well as the Freo lifestyle.
