THE latest building approvals data show that national housing activity is trending downwards, but WA's approvals remain strong and are trending upwards. WA's seasonally adjusted residential building approvals increased by 11.8 per cent to 2,242 between June and July, to stand 23.3 per cent higher than in July 2003.
Across Australia, building approvals decreased by 0.7 per cent to 14,438 between June and July. They have fallen by 2.9 per cent in the past three months and decreased by 5.1 per cent through the year to July 2004.
