Subiaco-based Regis Resources has delivered its highest quarterly production result since September 2014, yielding 80,090 ounces in the second quarter of 2017.

Regis said the 7 per cent increase on the previous quarter put production in the upper half of guidance for the full 2017 financial year, which is 300,000-330,000oz.

The gold miner's quarterly production result was achieved at an all-in sustaining cost of $951 per ounce, below its FY17 guidance.

"Cash and bullion increased by $26.6 million for the quarter to $129.7 million after the payment of $7.7 million of pre strip mining and $2.4 million of startup capital at Gloster and Erlistoun, $2.6 million on the Rosemount cutback and $6.8 million on the extensive exploration programs at Duketon and McPhillamys," Regis said in a statement.

Regis sold 71,092oz of gold during the quarter at an average of $1,719/oz.

The company expects its gold output rate to be maintained for the financial year as the Gloster and Erlisoun projects in Western Australia come online.

Shares in Regis were 2.4 per cent higher to $3.14 each at 10:50am.
