QRSciences appoints former House of Reps speaker to board

Cannington-based security technology group QRSciences Holdings Ltd has appointed former House of Representatives Speaker Bob Halverson as a non-executive director.

After his retirement from parliament, Mr Halverson served as Australia's ambassador to Ireland and the Holy See from 1999 to 2003.

QRS chief executive Kevin Russeth said an a statement that Mr Halverson's expertise in government, international relations and finance would complement existing board expertise in aviation and homeland security.

QRSciences Holdings is pleased to announce the appointment of Bob Halverson , OBE, as a Non-Executive Director. Mr. Halverson has had a long and distinguished career in the service of Australia , firstly with the Royal Australian Air Force, then as a member of the Australian Federal Parliament and as Speaker of the House of Representatives, more recently in the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade as Australian Ambassador to Ireland and the Holy See.

Kevin Russeth , QRS's Chief Executive Officer, commented: "I am delighted that Mr Halverson has agreed to join the QRS Board. He brings with him considerable experience in the areas of government, international relations and finance, which complements existing Board expertise in aviation and homeland security.
