Louise Rae has joined BDO Chartered Accountants and Advisers as a marketing manager. Louise has gained extensive experience in financial services marketing in both Australia and Europe. Her previous experience includes the development of communi-cation programs, event management, client relationship, management, web-site development and strategic marketing planning.

BDO has also acquired Jacqui Ikin as human resource manager. Jacqui has more than ten years’ experience as human resources professional, including senior roles in a number of large Sydney-based corporations, with responsibility for recruitment, training and other related areas. She also has completed advanced studies in the human resource management field.

Marketforce group general manager John Driscoll has been appointed group-managing director following Ian Tassell’s retirement on December 31. Mr Tassell has played a major role in building Marketforce into one of WA’s largest and most successful communications group. After working at Marketforce for 18 years Mr Tassell is retiring to his vineyard at Cowaramup in the South West and will be involved in marketing wine from his property and the region.

Law firm Phillips Fox has appointed former senior associate at law firm Mallesons Stephen Jaques, Richard Hale to its property Services Division.

Paul Fry has been appointed lead partner for the oil and gas industry with PricewaterhouseCoopers’ Perth office.

Mr Fry, who was educated in Perth, has spent most of his time working overseas in the UK and Canada.

He spent three years in London with many of the major oil and gas companies. He then moved to Calgary with his Canadian born wife and worked with PricewaterhouseCoopers.

In his 10 years working in Calgary, Mr Fry advised a wide range of oil and gas companies in accessing capital market in North America, compliance with the applicable regulatory requirements and setting up and managing international operations.

“I see many similarities between Canada and Australia; each has significant oil and gas operations and opportunities,” Mr Fry said.

“Both are recipients of large capital from overseas markets where international companies are looking for buying opportunities and strategic initiatives.

Perth businessman Kevin Campbell has been appointed chairman of the Lotteries Commission of WA, following the unexpected retirement of Business News consultant Lloyd Stewart after seven years as Com-mission chairman.

Corin Lamont also joins the board replacing Deborah McGeoch.

Mr Campbell has 35 years’ experience in the television industry and is a former chairman and CEO of Channel Seven Perth.

Mr Campbell is non-executive chairman of Q Multimedium Ltd, non-executive chairman of Data and Commerce Ltd, chairman of EiR Pty Ltd and a director of Movies Online Ltd.
