OYSTER Consulting is a successful Western Australian-based management consultancy, specialising in the natural resources sector internationally, including mining, minerals and oil and gas. The firm, located on St Georges Terrace, was co-founded in 2002 by managing director James Chapman and directors Dean Felton, Richard Pearce and Paul Shields. Since then Mark Hughes has also joined as a director. With 12 staff and two contractors, Oyster is ranked as the number 11 management consultancy firm in WA, according to the 2006 WA Business News Book of Lists. Oyster has completed a range of successful engagements with firms such as Woodside, Santos, Rio Tinto, Alcoa, Tiwest, Ok Tedi Mining, Sphere Investments, Atlas Iron, Nova Energy and a range of smaller fast growing mining companies. Oyster was also ranked sixth nationally last year in BRW’s startup ranking, the top firm in WA.
