WORTH IT: Mark Batina says years of hard work are paying off.

Precise solution for business

Perth-founded information technology firm Precise Business Solutions is making a name for itself on the global stage, having identified an opportunity in the software development space.

Precise has been a partner of global enterprise software firm Epicor for more than 16 years, selling and implementing its technology to clients in Australia.

The relationship and strong sales results have led to Precise being named Epicor’s global partner of the year for the second year running.

Precise has also been developing additional software to supplement the Epicor-branded technology it was providing for clients.

Those one-off projects have now developed into a steady revenue stream, with Precise’s developments being sold as addition add-ons to the Epicor package in the US, Mexico and Pacific Rim countries.

The growth in the product development side of the business has led Precise to opening a software development facility in Vietnam, which currently employs five staff.

“But I think we would double that in the next year,” managing director Mark Batina told Business News.

“We couldn’t develop fast enough, so we wanted to explore ways and access expertise that could help us improve that pace that we could deliver.”

Vietnam was chosen as the location partly due to lower costs, but also because Precise had staff with established networks there.

The company has also been growing domestically with five staff added to its Perth team in the past 12 months, taking the total to 45.
