Attorney General Christian Porter will take on the responsibilities of the Native Title portfolio as part of several reassignments revealed by Premier Colin Barnett today.

The Early Childhood Development and Women's Interests portfolios will also be moved as part of the changes.

Mr Barnett said the changes reflected a logical re-think on the portfolios are handled.

The Office of Native Title will become part of the Department of the Attorney General.

The Native Portfolio was originally handled by Treasurer Troy Buswell. Kim Hames will retain the Indigenous Affairs portfolio.

Early Childhood Development will be incorporated with Education and becomes the responsibility of Elizabeth Constable.

Women's Interests will be moved to Robyn McSweeney to complement her current responsibilities of Child Protection; Community Services; Seniors and Volunteering.
