Perth-linked online shopping business Checkmate has raised $US15 million from sources as widely dispersed as Paris Hilton and Google Ventures to fund its consumer technology.

Led by Google Ventures, the new raising comes on top of $US5 million invested by Silicon Valley venture capital funds late last year.

Google Ventures partner Frederique Dame has joined the Checkmate board as part of the deal.

Headquartered in San Francisco and started by Western Australians Harry Dixon, Elliot Rampono and Rory Garton-Smith, the business last year informally launched its personalised smart shopping tool to manage the increasing complexity of discounts, gift cards and parcel tracking.

Checkmate said it reached top position in Apple’s app store at the end of last year and now more than 380,000K users, around 15 per cent of which are daily active users.
