Perth-based mineral explorer Peak Resources has appointed Richard Beazley as its managing director, effective as of January 16.

The company said in a statement today Mr Beazley is a mining engineer with more than 25 years’ experience in the resource sector.

His previous appointment was as general manager, technical services and corporate development for Consolidated Minerals.

Prior to this Mr Beazley has held management and executive roles with a range of companies operating throughout Australia including St Barbara Limited, Aditya Birla Minerals and Henry Walker Eltin Contracting.

He is a member of the Australasian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy where he has previously served as South West Branch chairperson for a number of years.

Peak Resources said Mr Beazley steps into the role at a crucial time for its Tanzanian Ngualla project, with exploration work completed this year confirming a new large discovery and the maiden JORC compliant rare earth resource scheduled for completion in March.
