Boutique developer Norup + Wilson has appointed Leederville-based PACT Construction to deliver its $110 million  retirement project in Applecross, with construction to begin as early as next month.

The 14-storey Grandton Applecross apartment development, designed by Silver Thomas Hanley, features more than 80 serviced retirement living apartments, 10 private care suites, communal facilities, a rooftop garden, restaurant and office.

PACT Construction general manager Jason Thomson said the company was pleased to be adding to its growing portfolio and looking forward to delivering the project.

“PACT is proud to be chosen to build this truly inimitable, private care development based on our track record and relationship-first approach to doing business,” he said.

“We are looking forward to working closely with Norup + Wilson to successfully deliver the project.”

PACT already has a number of construction projects under way, including Mustera Property Group’s $89 million Forbes Residences apartment development in Applecross and Hesperia’s $65 million Victoria House residential development.

Norup + Wilson secured approval for the aged care facility back in August 2019, a proposal it modified to win the support of the development assessment panel.

Initially, the company had planned to build an apartment at the Kintail Road site, but changed the scope of the plan and proposed an aged care facility instead after it was rejected for not providing the community benefit necessary to justify exceeding the local height limit by six storeys.
