AUSTRADE’S USA senior trade commissioner Geoff Gray is touring regional Australia to highlight new opportunities in the US agriculture sector.
Mr Gray, who met with the WA Farmers Federation and the Pastoralists and Graziers Association of WA, said opportunities for WA farmers included beef, dairy and flowers.
All three have experienced tariff reductions since the Australia-United States Free Trade Agreement.
“The US is the largest farming importer and exporter, but its imports have grown much faster than its exports,” he said.
A new Austrade agriculture team to help Australian companies take advantage of trade opportunities is being assembled.
