Howell joins Mermaid Marine

Eve Howell has been appointed as a non-executive director of specialist marine logistics provider Mermaid Marine Australia. Ms Howell is currently a director of Downer EDI, the WA Ballet and the Ngarluma & Yindjibarndi Foundation. She recently launched a company called EMR Resources after quitting as executive vice-president for health, safety & security at Woodside Energy. 

Cole promoted to Woodside board

Woodside Petroleum has appointed Robert Cole to its board as executive director, commercial. Mr Cole joined the company in April 2006 in the role of general counsel and was also previously executive vice-president, commercial. Former Woodside vice-president, legal and senior counsel Michael Abbott has now replaced Mr Cole in the role of general counsel.

Movements at Atlas Iron

Atlas Iron managing director David Flanagan has been appointed as executive chairman, chief development officer Ken Brinsden as managing director, and Kerry Sanderson as an independent non-executive director. While David Hannon has stepped down as chairman, he will remain on the board as an independent non-executive director. Under the leadership restructure, Mr Flanagan will retain a day-to-day role will then become non-executive chairman on August 31. 

Lionel Samson recruits David

Neil David has been appointed as chief executive officer at Lionel Samson Sadleirs, the parent group of diversified private business Lionel Samson & Son. Mr David was previously the Perth-based general manager – sales & marketing at Toll Global Resources. He succeeds Ian Cook, a descendant of Lionel Samson, in the recently created role.
