Martin to chair Curtin law school

Chief justice Wayne Martin has been appointed as the inaugural chair of Curtin University’s new law school, which will offer four-year bachelor of laws degrees beginning next year. Chief Justice Martin was appointed to Western Australia’s Supreme Court in 2006.

Foundation dean of law Paul Fairall said the school was very fortunate to have Chief Justice Martin’s experience and counsel as chair to the law school’s advisory board.

Cusack joins PMC

The Potato Marketing Corporation of Western Australia, which is responsible for managing the supply of fresh table potatoes in WA, has appointed Tim Cusack as chief operating officer. Mr Cusack is an experienced food industry executive who was most recently managing director of Brownes Foods Operations. He has also previously worked in senior positions at Fonterra Brands Australia, Arnotts Biscuits, George Weston Foods and Lion Nathan. Mr Cusack will report to PMC acting chief executive officer Peter Evans.

Collier establishes energy reform forum

Energy Minister Peter Collier has established a forum to discuss electricity market reform, with 11 permanent and eight rotational members. The permanent members are the Minister for Energy, Chamber of Commerce and Industry WA, Chamber of Minerals and Energy, WA Independent Power Association, Perth Energy, Alinta Energy, ATCO Australia, WA Council of Social Services, Uniting Care West, Property Council of Australia, and Sustainable Energy Association of Australia.
