The operators behind Amplifier bar and Magnet House have flagged a major overhaul of Print Hall, after buying the Brookfield Place venue from Colonial Leisure Group.

Western Australian company NightOwl Entertainment Group, formerly Capitol Corp, has announced an expected February 15 reopening of Print Hall and its rooftop offering, Bob's Bar.

Group chairman David Heaton told Business News the deal with Victoria-based Colonial Leisure Group was completed in November 2022.

NightOwl Entertainment Group operates the Edison bar, Magnet House, Amplifier Bar, The Lookout in Scarborough, the Breakwater in Hillarys, Metropolis in Fremantle and several Flight Club locations.

Mr Heaton said the company was thrilled to have acquired one of Perth’s most iconic venues and had plans to renovate Print Hall.

“Our goal is to bring the venue back to life by providing an experience that celebrates the unique culture and energy of WA,” he said.

“We plan on renovating Print Hall extensively towards the end of the year, including updating the interior design and amenities as well as improving the overall customer experience.

“We hope to use the acquisition of Print Hall to further our mission of exploring and redefining what it means to be in the hospitality industry.

“We are committed to preserving and enhancing Print Hall's legacy by ensuring that it remains a place of great memories, joy, and hospitality.

"NightOwl wants to make a lasting impression on the hospitality industry, so you can be certain that the renovation at Print Hall will be something like Perth has never seen before.”

In June, Business News reported that Colonial Leisure Group had exchanged The Raffles Hotel and The Royal for Australian Venue Co's Melbourne-based pubs, The Vincent and O'Connell's.

Print Hall was reportedly Colonial Leisure Group's only remaining venue after the exchange.

The venue had been closed for renovations since April last year, with an announcement saying the Print Hall will have a big reopening in the second half of 2023.

NightOwl Entertainment also recently took over the Royal George Hotel in East Fremantle, which was restored by Saracen Properties, in its first freehold purchase.

The group announced the venue would open as a working hotel for the first time in almost 45 years.
