QANTAS Socceroo Stan Lazaridis will be joining Perth Glory Football Club for the next two A-League seasons. Mr Lazaridis, who was born in Perth, said after 11 seasons in England it was the right time to return home. Mr Lazardis has represented Australia in 70 appearances since his international debut in 1993 and was part of the 23-man squad to represent the country at the 2006 FIFA World Cup. In June, Football Federation Australia announced it would run Perth Glory next season, after failing to find a suitable owner to take over the club – once one of the nation’s most successful franchises. The FFA has been in temporary charge of the former NSL champions since May 1, after owner Nick Tana severed his long-term ties with the club.
