AZTEC Resources Ltd has announced the appointment of Michael Arnett to the position of non-executive chairman, with immediate effect, following the progression of Mt Gibson’s takeover bid for the junior iron ore company. Mr Arnett has been an independent non-executive director of Aztec since 2004, and brings more than 20 years’ experience in capital raising, corporate, commercial banking, and finance and securities law to the position. Mr Arnett also has extensive commercial experience in mergers and acquisitions and securities law, and is a partner of Deacons Australia and a director of Deacons International. Aztec also appointed three non-executive directors to its board last week.
