WESTERN Australian resources explorer Abra Mining Ltd has appointed Jeff Moore (above) as managing director to direct the next phase of exploration at its base metals project near Meekatharra in central WA. Mr Moore has a strong mix of capital market experience as well as sound geological skills, and has a successful record of international and domestic project development. His most recent position was as managing director of prominent Welshpool-headquartered gold explorer Allied Gold. He led Allied Gold through its merger with Canadian-based Nord Pacific, which facilitated the acquisition of its key asset, the Simberi gold project in Papua New Guinea. He also oversaw a successful $51.7 million capital raising for Allied Gold. Mr Moore’s Abra appointment is effective from April 18 2006. Abra chairman Robert Anderson said the new appointment paved the way for the next phase of Abra’s exploration.
