Insurance broker EBM has appointed a new leadership team and announced the retirement of long-standing managing director Jeff Adams at the end of this year.

Based in Perth for 39 years, the privately owned and operated business, which is ranked in BNiQ as the state’s third largest insurance broker, now has nine offices across the country and an annual turnover of $200 million.

EBM founder and executive chairman Alan Bishop said Mr Adams would continue in his capacity as non-executive board member and be available as a consultant.

The new management team will be made up of current EBM senior staff Ward Dedman, Stephen Sparkes and Sharon Fox-Slater, and new recruit Ryan Cameron.

Mr Dedman has been appointed managing director operations, Mr Sparkes will be managing director broking focused on insurance broking and risk management, and Ms Fox-Slater will continue to oversee EBM’s landlord insurance division RentCover as executive general manager.

Mr Cameron, who recently joined the firm from Phoenix Insurance Brokers, will become EBM’s state manager.

Mr Bishop said the new management team would continue to grow and improve the business, which across WA has offices in Perth, Kalgoorlie, Bunbury, Geraldton and Karratha.

“Risk management is becoming more complex and the world of insurance is changing dramatically but EBM has strong foundations,” Mr Bishop said.

“This enables us to respond quickly to our clients and to capitalise on emerging challenges.”
