New executive deans at ECU

Edith Cowan University has appointed two new executive deans, William Louden, as Executive Dean, Faculty of Community Services, Education and Social Sciences, and Robyn Quin, Executive Dean, Faculty of Communications and Creative Industries.

Both positions also include a Pro Vice-Chancellor role.

A well-respected education expert, Professor Louden was Professor of Education at ECU, where he taught in the Doctor of Education and Kindergarten-to-Year 7 programs.

Previously at ECU, he was Associate Dean of Research and Higher Degrees, and Director of Research and a senior research fellow in the Faculty of Education.

Before joining ECU, he had a long career in the public sector, and also worked as a teacher and Head of English in secondary schools.

Professor Quin has been acting in the Executive Dean role since January this year, and previously was Head of ECU's School of Communications and Multimedia, Head of School Language Literature and Media, Head of Department Media Studies and Acting Director Policy and Planning.

She is an adjunct professor at the National University of Distance Education in Madrid and a member of the European Institute for Communication and Development.
