Perth-based mining contractor NRW Holdings has won $125 million worth of Pilbara contracts with Rio Tinto’s Hamersley Iron.

NRW will provide earthworks for Hamersley’s Cape Lambert port expansion project, civil works for the primary crusher at the Western Turner Brockman iron ore mine, and will also construct an airstrip and associated infrastructure for the development.

The Cape Lambert works will be undertaken in joint venture with Ngarluma and Yindjibarndi Foundation, while the civil works for the crushing plant and the airstrip will be performed in joint venture with Eastern Gurama.

The Boolgeeda airstrip deal was awarded under NRW’s framework agreement with Rio Tinto.

NRW said the Western Turner works were awarded under tender.

The company said it expected the works to create more than 150 jobs.

At 9:45AM, NRW stocks were trading at $4.09, down 0.24 per cent on the day.
