Spare Parts Puppet Theatre was established in 1981 out of an artist in residence program at the WA Institute of Technology (now Curtin University). The company, which is based in Fremantle, tours regionally and interstate and is supported by the state and federal governments. Spare Parts has a school of puppetry and has toured its productions overseas in China, the US, South Korea, Singapore, Japan and central Europe.
