NFP Boards - WA Energy Research Alliance

A joint venture between CSIRO, Curtin University and the University of Western Australia, the WA Energy Research Alliance is designed to provide research and technology solutions for many exploration and production challenges facing the oil and gas industry. The WAERA has received $20 million from the WA Government over five years.

• Dr Beverly Ronalds (also on independent advisory group), CSIRO Petroleum chief

• Professor Barney Glover, Curtin University pro-vice chancellor

• Professor Doug McEachern, UWA pro-vice chancellor

• Dave Agostini (also on independent advisory group)

• Robert Johnston (acting CEO)

The WAERA also boasts a high-level industry advisory group chaired by Woodside Energy chief operating officer Keith Spence. Other members, besides Mr Agostini and Dr Ronalds are: BHP Billiton Petroleum president Australia Asia Gas Bill Bloking; WA Government chief scientist Bruce Hobbs; Apache managing director Eve Howell; Chevron Texaco Australia managing director James Johnson; Advanced Well Technologies managing director Cameron Manifold; ARC Energy deputy managing director Derrick O’Keefe; Worley director Iain Ross; and CSIRO’s Craig Roy.
