Mundijong-based Mundella Foods was the only local dairy to be honoured at the Australian Grand Dairy Awards held in Melbourne last week.
Mundella was one of 19 champions at the awards, winning the Champion Natural Yoghurt category for its Premium Natural Yoghurt.
Chief executive David Day said the company and its employees were thrilled with the award.
“Ongoing industry recognition goes a long way to inspire us to continue to provide high quality premium dairy products that our customers expect,” he said.
Mundella was established in 1974 by dairy farmers Peter and Anne Hector.
Its ‘Little Greek Ones’ premium yoghurt has been on Qantas’ domestic flight menu since mid-2011.
