Monadelphous worker dies in accident

Engineering and construction company Monadelphous has reported an accident at its workshop services facility in Kalgoorlie, resulting in the death of one of its employees.

Monadelphous said emergency services attended the scene but the 26-year-old employee, Haydyn Grubb, had since passed away.

The company has not disclosed further details of the accident, which occured on Saturday.

“We are deeply saddened by the loss of our colleague in the close-knit community of Kalgoorlie,” managing director Rob Velletri said.

“We extend our sincere condolences to our employee’s family, friends and colleagues during this very difficult time.”

Monadelphous said it would be conducting an investigation into the accident and was working with the relevant authorities.
