Engineering company Monadelphous Group says it has secured a contract amendment and contract extensions with a combined value of more than $100 million.

The agreements are with major companies in the LNG, petroleum, aluminium and fertiliser industries in Western Australia and Queensland.

In Western Australia, Monadelphous has been awarded a contract amendment with Chevron Australia to construct a water treatment facility for the Gorgon project on Barrow Island. This is scheduled to be completed this financial year.

The company has also been awarded a contract extension to June 2014 for project work, shutdown management and maintenance services at the BP Kwinana Refinery.

In Queensland, Monadelphous has been awarded a contract extension to March 2012 for maintenance support services for Boyne Smelters Limited (BSL) at the Rio Tinto-operated Boyne Island aluminium smelter at Gladstone.

The company has also formalised a previously-announced shutdown alliance with Incitec Pivot Limited for operations in Queensland, with the term revised from December 2010 to March 2013.

Monadelphous Managing Director Rob Velletri said the contracts demonstrated the company's continuing ability to successfully deliver a wide range of services for blue chip customers.

"We are pleased to have the opportunity to do more work on the Gorgon project and to continue our relationships with BP, BSL and Incitec Pivot," Mr Velletri said.
