Monadelphous puts record on report

IT is reporting season and For the Record is going to attempt to bring as many of those results to readers as possible.

Listed engineer Monade-lphous Group has reported record sales revenue and after tax profit levels for the 2002-03 financial year.

Sales revenue was $243.7 million, up 57.6 per cent and profit after tax increased 48.1 per cent to $7.07 million.

Earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation was up 27.9 per cent – despite being impacted by increased public liability costs and employee benefit liabilities and taking into account a doubtful debt that crystallised shortly after the balance date.

The company will pay a full year’s fully franked dividend of 25 cents a share.

Major engineering construction contracts impacted on the company’s 2002-03 results. It secured three major contracts associated with the major expansion of BHP Billiton’s iron ore operations in the Pilbara.

Great Southern Plantations has reported a record net profit of $41.4 million for the 2002-03 year, an increase of 140 per cent on the previous year. The company’s revenue from ordinary activities was up 82 per cent to about $99.5 million.

The company has declared a final fully franked dividend of 5 cents a share, on top of the interim fully franked dividend of 2 cents a share that was paid in May.

Perth-based integrated engineer RCR Tomlinson has reported a $2.1 million full year profit based on record sales of $91.1 million.

While profit was down from the $2.3 million in 2001-02 due to a $0.5 million loss on a major project, the company has doubled its dividend to 1 cent per share payable on November 19.

The second half profit of $1.2 million was up 50 per cent on the first half-year profit of $0.8 million. All of the companies tax losses were utilised.

Managing director John Linden said the company’s cash position had improved by $5.1 million and net bank gearing was down to 23 per cent.
