Moly Mines has confirmed the maiden iron ore shipment from its Spinifex Ridge project will take place before the end of the year.
The "MV Father Neptune" vessel is due to arrive at Port Hedland on December 27, carrying around 55,000 tonnes of iron ore from the port by the new year.
Shipment sizes are expected to increase over the next few weeks as production ramps up and Moly's stockpiling facilities are completed.
Shares in the company were up 4.46 per cent to $1.05 in mid-day trade.
