WEST Perth-based earthmoving equipment supplier Emeco Holdings Ltd has appointed Peter Johnston to its board as a non-executive director. Emeco listed on the ASX recently and has a market capitalisation of $1.16 billion, while Mr Johnston’s company, Minara Resources, Ltd is valued by the market at $1.38 billion. Mr Johnston has been managing director and chief executive of Minara since November 2001, and is a past president and current council member of the Western Australian Chamber of Minerals and Energy. Emeco managing director Laurie Freedman said the directors of the company were looking forward to him making a significant contribution to the Emeco group. Mr Johnston’s appointment is effective as from September 1.
