Mining software supplier Micromine has promoted Claire Tuder to the role of director and chief executive while also establishing an advisory board with two industry veterans.

The Nedlands-based company has appointed former Minerals Council chief executive Mitch Hooke and former Rio Tinto executive John McGagh as the inaugural members of its advisory board.

The advisory board will assist Micromine’s board of directors, which comprises long-serving chairman Alan Broome, company founder Graeme Tuder, who works part-time in the business, and his daughter Claire Tuder.

Ms Tuder, who is a 40under40 award winner, was previously general manager and strategic marketing manager.

Her professional background is in marketing and business development, most recently as the director of sales at the Metropolitan Redevelopment Authority.

“We are honoured Mitch and John accepted our invitation to join our advisory board,” she said.

Mr Hooke retired from the Minerals Council of Australia in 2013 and is currently chairman of partners in Performance International – a global management consulting firm for mineral resources, agricultural, industrial manufacturing and services industries.

Mr McGagh is chief digital officer of energy generation company Snowy Hydro.

Prior to joining Snowy Hydro, Mr McGagh was head of innovation at Rio Tinto and worked on a range of technologies including the Mine of the Future program, which includes the use of autonomous vehicles.

In a statement, Mr Hooke was florid in his praise for the company.

“This initiative is indicative of Micromine’s systematic thirst for knowledge in their globally acclaimed innovative design and application of software solutions in expediting the discovery and transformation of natural resources endowment into societal wealth,” he said.

Micromine was founded 30 years ago by Graeme Tuder, and has over 12,000 clients in more than 90 countries.
