Michael Smith joins AHG board

One of Perth's most influential directors, Michael Smith, has been appointed to the board of Automotive Holdings Group as a non-executive director.

"Mike has considerable experience in strategy, marketing and finance which will make him a valuable asset to the AHG Board," AHG chairman Bob Branchi said.

Mr Smith operates the recently established consultancy firm, Black House, after shutting down The Marketing Centre and he chairs energy retailer Synery, internet service provider iiNet and the Perth International Arts Festival.

Mr Smith is also a director of 7-Eleven stores, vice president of the Australian Institute of Company Directors WA and Home Building Society.

He became widely known to the public as chairman of the West Coast Eagles from 1999 to 2002.
