Method’s mentoring pays off

METHOD + Madness creative director Craig Winley has been selected as a semi- finalist in the Young Australian of the Year Awards.

Mr Winley has been working in the IT industry since winning a Wantree design award at 14 years of age and became creative director at Method + Madness at 18.

Still at school when he began working for the company, he had to sacrifice a lot to keep on top of work and his education.

“Now I know it was worth it because I am 19 and working with our top clients in WA and Australia, winning awards and advising clients twice my age on how to brand their business on the Internet,” Mr Winley said.

“My personal goal is to be 100 per cent creative in the way I work, live and breathe. It is my belief that if I make creativity a part of my life, I will always be positive about the future and the boundaries I can push.”

Method + Madness managing director and co-founder Stephen Langsford said other new economy companies should support dynamic talent like Mr Winley to realise their dreams and provide the necessary training and R&D time to help them flourish.

“Generation X are so young when they start developing their career skills, and a lack of experience makes the majority of employers hesitant when employing them,” Mr Langsford said.

“However, these are the backbone of e-business – they know more about how to make it happen and what will and won’t work online than we do.

“By providing guidance, people like Craig Winley become the Young Australian of today and the business leaders of tomorrow”.

Based in Subiaco, Method + Madness is an e-business solutions provider specialising in web site design, development and integration.
