IRON ore pellet producer Cleveland Cliffs Inc has appointed Richard Mehan to lead its newly created Asia-Pacific business unit. Mr Mehan is currently managing director and chief executive of Portman Mining Ltd, of which Cleveland Cliffs is the parent company. His new role will be to coordinate the identification and execution of mergers and acquisitions in the Asia Pacific region, although he will continue with his board responsibilities at Portman Mining. Portman Mining announced that a new managing director will be sought immediately.
