Mediator pair for Kalgoorlie-Boulder

CSD Network consultant Tim Muirhead (right) and Kim Bridge of Kim Bridge and Associates are to develop a Kalgoorlie-Boulder indigenous consultation protocol.

Mr Bridge has recently worked with indigenous communities in the Pilbara on the evaluation of an arts strategy, and in a range of other communities, conducting corporate governance and capacity building training.

Mr Muirhead was the joint co-ordinator of the ‘Australians for Reconciliation’ workshops held in WA.

The Department of Indigenous Affairs, the City of Kalgoorlie-Boulder, and the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Commission’s Mulga Mallee Regional Council have jointly funded the appointments of Mr Muirhead and Mr Bridge, under contract with CSD.

The indigenous consultation protocol is a key recommendation from an investigation last year into racial tension in Kalgoorlie-Boulder by Race Discrimination Commissioner William Jonas.
